The historical educationists I can identify would have to be I believe was some of my favorite teachers from kindergarten to now my freshman year in college. One who really sticks out in my head was my kindergarten teacher, she helped me with a lot stuff, she showed me how to be a well behaved student, and everything in between to teaching me how to tie my shoes. She contributed to the profession of teaching because shortly after I moved on from that grade she worked on her degree to become the guidance counselor because she wanted to help the kids that really needed help, I always like her and respected her a lot for that. There was a few more teachers that stuck out like her but she is the one who had the most impact on me through the whole career of learning.Yes I want to be a lot like her and another reason she is my favorite is because she still says to this day that I am her favorite student. So that means a lot to me and I only hope I can be just as good of teacher as she was.
Blog2- As I envision myself as a teacher, my thinking going to the classroom would be to teach whatever the school demands to be taught for them to get on to the next level. I mean nowadays there is a certain guideline of what your students have to pass or to graduate in my case, because I one day want to teach seniors. So as it says in Chapter 5 there are academic content standards and curriculum guides that I am going to have to follow, according to the school or the state I am teaching in. There is going to be some room to throw in what I think is necessary, and that is still a controversial topic for me because I am looking into going into the science field of teaching but my heart is at the history field, so in case of history I would probably be teaching government and I would throw in a lot of things that have to with the government at that point and time. I will probably teach out of the book that calls for my class, but some of the activities my class would do would be group work and projects, so it just a boring note taking and chapter reading class. I think that is important for my students to learn all of my teachings and to at least to grasp what I am teaching. My purpose in teaching students would be to get them better prepared for the next level, like I said I want to teach seniors because I feel like that it is the most critical year. My goal is to get them ready for college, so that is my purpose in teaching.
Blog3- Some of the ways I can personally think of schools teaching more than just the academic curriculum would be when the schools or teachers in that matter maybe don’t teach something that necessarily has to do something with the class, some of these thing would include as maybe a teacher taking her kids outside to play kickball or as I remember when I was in elementary school if we were really good our teacher would take us outside for the last half hour of the day if it was nice and if it wasn’t nice we would have free time at the end of class. I think this is good to do because there can be a limit on too much being taught in one day and especially smaller kids need breaks and it gives them time to let their energy out and it will let them be more focused in the classroom because let’s face it nothing is going to get taught in a classroom full of rowdy children. Some ways schools are a social institution is that all you do at school is the same stuff everyday and that would remind you of being an institution all day and nobody wants to that so this is a very bad way to look upon to schools. This term means to students a bad deal like I said nobody ever wants to go to an “institution” ever cause all the places we know like that are bad places. This means the same to everybody that word is usually not a good word so no one feels like that is a good name for schools, or at least I believe. Looking back I can see a lot of regularities of schooling that I probably always took for granted and never questioned, looking back now I do regret that but in some ways teachers do need to spice up the classroom because if they do that instead of those one or two kids that look forward to coming to school, you might have actually ten or fifteen that like to come to school. So I definitely think we need to stop less regular and do more new.
Some of the characteristics of a classroom where all students are successfully learning would be how there are different races and how they are people too and how we need to respect them and treat them like we would want to be treated. Some of the necessary elements too is that all children are given the same right to learn and some of them do and some of them don’t but we can’t just leave those students behind. But back to the question and another example would be respect for all, and this is where students are learning about different types of races and respecting them just how they would want to be respected. I think this is a very good learning quality because now today as society I would like to say or at least believe that the world is not as prejudice as it used to be, but that is a very long and debatable stamen but yes I do believe students now are learning about different races of people and are respecting them a lot better. Alright, to me as a teacher now I think some of the best strengths I am going to bring to teaching is how I am very good with all types of people and even better with children, because growing up I have a handicapped brother and it has taught me to accept people a lot better and also taught me a lot of qualities and different ways of helping out people based on their needs. So just based on these strengths which I like to believe are among some of most important in being a good teacher I am also a person who likes to learn new things and with my area of teaching new things are always being done with science so I will keep making my students better learners and it will keep very interested with my classroom so based on these couple of strengths I believe I will be a great teacher and my classroom will be where all students successfully learn.
